Altruism and Helping for a Sample of Children's Teachers in Jordan

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the altruism and helping for a sample of children's teachers in Jordan and to determine the effect of both genders, and age on helping. The study also aimed to expose the relative importance of helping motives according to the children's teachers from Wadi El-Seir District,. The validity and reliability of the scale were ensured, the study showed that: 1) The helping degree was high. 2) There were a significant differences in the degree of altruistic behavior due to gender (for males). 3) There were no significant differences in the degree of helping due to age. 4) There were significant differences in the degree of helping due to gender (for males). 5) There were no significant differences in the degree of low -cost helping due to age and gender or the interaction between both of them. 6) According to the children's teachers, the most significant helping motives are: religion, self-reinforcement, responsibility, efficiency, and empathy.
